There are several things to do in Eastern Idaho in the winter months. Put on the right gear and head outside and enjoy the crisp, cool air and the scenic views of this wonderful part of the state.

Hit the slopes at nearby Kelly Canyon Ski Area and enjoy the intimacy of the mountain for day or night skiing. And, families love the new 600-foot tubing park. Or go to the famous Grand Targhee Ski Resort and get lost in over 3000 acres of land where you can enjoy alpine skiing, night skiing, heli-skiing, snow-cat skiing, cross country skiing, snow tubing and snow boarding.

Eastern Idaho also offers some of the best snowmobiling around with 1800 miles of groomed trails running along breathtaking open ridges, scenery, and wildlife. Many towns are known as snowmobiling hubs, and winter brings festivals and events celebrating this popular pastime.

Other outdoor winter activities in Eastern Idaho include snowshoeing, ice fishing, ice skating and sledding, but there is also much to do inside including visiting Eastern Idaho’s historical activities including Museums and Family History Centers.
